Classical dance refers to a traditional form of artistic expression with established principles, techniques, and a defined repertoire. It emphasizes storytelling, symbolism, and grace. Classical dance is often characterized by a structured training system and a focus on precise movements, as seen in forms like ballet or Indian classical dances like Bharatanatyam. Classical dance forms adhere to specific rules and techniques, that have been developed over time.Indian classical dance forms are renowned for their intricate storytelling, expressive hand gestures (mudras), and graceful body movements, all designed to communicate emotions and stories. These dances are deeply rooted in ancient traditions and scriptures like the Natya Shastra. They are not just about dance but a holistic art form that encompasses music, rhythm, and dramatic expression. This evokes a range of emotions (navarasas), mindfulness using facial expressions, body language, and costumes to convey these feelings.
